Oprah Winfrey is stepping down from the ‘WeightWatchers’ board after nearly 10 years, as announced by the diet company.

Although the reason for her departure has not been disclosed, according to the regulatory statement from WeightWatchers, it stated that it was not the result of disagreement or operational issues.
Winfrey, at 70 years old, plans to donate her shares to the National Museum of African American History and Culture. Her decision to end the partnership with ‘WeightWatchers’ comes a few months after admitting the use of a weight loss medication, emphasizing the need to approach obesity as a chronic condition and seeking to reduce the stigma associated with the issue.
The CEO of WeightWatchers, Sima Sistani, praised Oprah’s inspirational presence and her dedication to promoting balanced health. Winfrey, in her statement, expressed the desire to continue advising and collaborating with WeightWatchers to raise awareness about obesity and advocate for health equity.
